Customers are surprised about how comfortable my solid wood rocking chairs are. I wood bend almost every part of this rocking chair, so it comfortably conforms to your body.
These chairs are made to sit outdoor. I use locust wood, which is typically used to make decks. I also finish it with outdoor protector instead of lacquer to seal it from the elements. While not as smooth as a lacquer finish, it is stronger outside. For these wood chairs to hold up outside, outdoor sealer will need applied yearly.
The color of locust wood is similar to oak, yet more golden. Light stain colors do not pair well with it. Please check out our oak color chart for a sample of how stain colors show up on locust wood. Note that the colors are similar, not identical. Photo shows the rocker in Irma's grey and ebony stain - a two tone combination.
